Sales Associate Job Responsibilities/Personal Qualities Include:
- Greets and assists customers
- Handles sales/credit card payments using POS system
- Goes through store opening/closing procedures at the appropriate times
- Ensures shelves/coolers are stocked and tidy and cleans/re-stocks as needed
- Assists customers by providing information and resolving issues; escalates concerns to Store Manager when needed
- Alerts Store Manager when inventory is low so it can be re-ordered
- May run register reports (payments received during a time period, reconciling this with total sales)
- May work on your feet 6-8 hours at a time; possibility of occasional outdoor work/sales on the patio under tent as weather permits, and should be able to lift/carry 40 lbs (position requires stooping, bending, lifting and climbing step-stool)
- Be genuinely interested in the value of fine local foods and the support of small businesses
- Inquisitively learn the back-stories of our suppliers

Associate Store Manager Job Responsibilities Include:

Opening and/or closing the store (including running daily reports and ensuring numbers balance out)

Operation and understanding of the POS system (experience with Clover or similar POS is a plus)

Merchandising of new and existing product

Serving as point of contact for customer concerns/inquiries

Management of store staff (assigning duties, creating weekly work schedules, breaks for staff, etc.)

Inventory management (e.g. Identifying and/or rotating product in accordance with “best-by” or expiration dates, reconciles deliveries/orders, ensures deliveries are entered into POS and accounts for inventory, flags when items need to be reordered, ensures delivery items are stored in temperate location until they’re stocked, etc.)

“Behind the scenes” store organization and other duties commensurate with the needs of the business
Successful candidates have the ability to:

Think quickly and multi-task in a fast-paced setting

Work on your feet for 6-8 hours at a time, possibility of occasional outdoor work/sales on the patio under tent as weather permits, and be able to lift/carry 40 lbs (position requires stooping, bending, lifting and climbing step-stool)

Job Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree

Experience: 3+ years' experience in operation management
