Role Description The Cow Herd Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Paris, KY, responsible for the daily management and care of the cow herd. This includes monitoring herd health, coordinating feeding and nutrition plans, overseeing breeding and calving activities, and maintaining accurate herd records. The role includes workikg with other team members, organizing pasture rotations, and ensuring facilities, equipment, and fencing are in good working order. The Cow Herd Manager will collaborate with veterinarians, nutritionists, and leadership to implement herd improvement strategies and adhere to safety, welfare, and biosecurity standards. This position also supports inventory planning, assists with sale preparation, and helps optimize herd performance and productivity.

- Demonstrated experience in cow herd or beef cattle management, including breeding, calving, and herd health monitoring.
- Knowledge of cattle nutrition, pasture management, and safe livestock handling techniques.
- Ability to maintain detailed herd records and use basic farm management or herd management software.
- Strong organizational skills, schedule tasks, and coordinate daily operations.
- Capacity to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Effective communication skills for working with owners, veterinarians, suppliers, and other team members.
- Understanding of animal welfare standards, biosecurity practices, and relevant safety regulations.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in animal science, agriculture, or a related field is a plus.
- Prior experience in commercial cattle operations, and basic mechanical skills to maintain equipment.
