Position Overview

We are seeking a mechanically inclined Field Service Technician to support equipment commissioning, startup, inspection, troubleshooting, and minor repairs at customer sites throughout the United States. When not traveling, the technician will work at the company's manufacturing facility in Orange, MA, as required.


The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with industrial equipment, mechanical systems, valves, motors, actuators, pumps, or related machinery. Strong troubleshooting, customer communication, and technical report-writing skills are essential.

Important: The technician must document field observations and completed work through detailed service reports and photographs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support and witness equipment commissioning, installation, and startup activities.
  • Inspect industrial equipment and diagnose mechanical or operational issues.
  • Troubleshoot valves, motors, actuators, pumps, and related mechanical equipment, as applicable to the equipment being serviced.
  • Perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments when necessary.
  • Identify equipment failures, document findings, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed field service reports covering observations, issues identified, work performed, test results, and recommendations.
  • Take photographs of equipment conditions, identified problems, and completed repairs.
  • Communicate technical findings clearly to customers and internal teams.
  • Represent the company professionally at customer sites.
  • Work at the Orange, MA manufacturing facility when not traveling.
  • Follow applicable safety procedures and maintain accurate service documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • 5 years of experience in field service, industrial maintenance, mechanical repair, or equipment servicing.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to prepare clear, detailed technical service reports.
  • Ability to take photographs to document field observations and work completed.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States up to 50% of the time.
  • Willingness to work at the Orange, MA facility when not traveling.
  • Willingness to relocate to the Orange, MA area if required.


Technical Experience

Candidates with experience in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Industrial valves, safety valves, control valves, and pressure relief valves.
  • Electric motors, motorized equipment, and actuators.
  • Pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
  • Mechanical equipment installation, testing, and calibration.
  • Industrial machinery troubleshooting and repair.
  • Equipment commissioning and startup.
  • Manufacturing plants, power plants, refineries, and other industrial facilities.
  • Industrial water and wastewater treatment equipment.
  • Quality control, equipment inspections, and technical documentation.

Critical Requirement: Report Writing and Photo Documentation

Ideal Candidate

A hands-on mechanical or industrial service professional with experience troubleshooting equipment, performing inspections and minor repairs, supporting commissioning and startup, and communicating findings through professional reports and photographs.
