A distinguished plaintiff-side law firm is seeking an experienced paralegal to support its employment wage-and-hour class action practice. The organization combines a collaborative, client-focused culture with the pace, precision, and accountability required in complex, high-volume litigation.
Position Summary
The Paralegal will provide substantive litigation and case-management support to attorneys and partners handling employment wage-and-hour class actions. This role requires disciplined management of a high-volume docket, strong discovery and filing experience, precise calendaring, and the judgment to keep complex matters moving through hearings, depositions, mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare correspondence, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation documents.
- Proofread and edit legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Conduct legal research and gather information supporting active matters.
- Maintain organized case files in document and case-management systems.
- Propound and respond to discovery and coordinate related deadlines and documentation.
- Manage calendars, court deadlines, litigation projects, and client communications.
- Support hearings, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trial preparation.
- Provide guidance and workflow support to paralegals, legal assistants, and clerks as needed.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of paralegal experience supporting labor and employment and wage-and-hour litigation.
- Experience with electronic filing in state and federal courts and with administrative agencies.
- Experience propounding and responding to discovery, calendaring hearings and court deadlines, and supporting mediation, arbitration, or trial preparation.
- Strong legal writing, proofreading, research, organization, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment.
- Proficiency with LexisNexis, Westlaw, or a comparable legal-research platform.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plaintiff-side employment law or wage-and-hour class action experience.
- Appellate filing experience.
- Experience with Litify or a comparable case or document-management platform.
- Spanish fluency and proficiency with Microsoft 365.
- Bachelor’s degree.
