We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Mobility Equipment Repair Technician to join our team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain rollators, walkers, hospital beds, patient lifts, and manual and electric wheelchairs. You will work in a shop using specialized tools and knowledge to restore mobility equipment and ensure they meet the highest standards of safety and functionality.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a commitment to enhancing the mobility and independence of our clients.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on mobility devices and other medical equipment as directed.
- Identify issues with mobility equipment to include rollators, walkers, hospital beds, manual and electric scooters, manual and electric wheelchairs, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic problems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter, to troubleshoot electrical components and systems.
- Modify wheelchairs according to individual client needs and specifications.
- Ensure all equipment is compliant with safety regulations and standards.
- Document all repairs and maintenance activities accurately in client records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to assess client needs and recommend appropriate equipment solutions.
- Provide training and support to clients on the proper use and care of their mobility devices.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Communicate with clients to understand their needs, explain repair procedures, and address any concerns, as well as troubleshoot via telephone/video calls.
- Any other tasks as assigned by Team Lead and/or Management.

Requirements:
· Ability to work successfully as part of a team
· Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
· 1-2 years of wheelchair repair is strongly preferred.
· Excellent Driving Record
· Professional appearance
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Basic experience with Word, Excel, Outlook, Google Sheets
· Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
· Manage basic paperwork & reports
