Location: Concord, New Hampshire
Work Schedule: Days (7:00 AM–3:00 PM) or Evenings (3:00 PM–11:00 PM), five 8-hour shifts per week

A state-operated inpatient behavioral health hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care within a multidisciplinary treatment environment. Position Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to psychiatric patients through clinical assessment, medication administration, treatment implementation, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This position supports a safe therapeutic environment while ensuring compliance with nursing standards and organizational policies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct physical, psychiatric, and admission assessments.
- Administer prescribed medications.
- Process physician orders accurately.
- Monitor and document vital signs.
- Perform blood glucose testing.
- Complete prescribed treatments.
- Conduct pain assessments.
- Perform dressing changes.
- Provide venipuncture services.
- Maintain therapeutic milieu management.
- Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation and clinical review.
- Communicate patient findings verbally and in writing.
- Initiate personal safety emergency procedures when necessary in accordance with agency policy.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum of two years of psychiatric nursing experience.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience working in inpatient behavioral health settings.
- Strong assessment and documentation skills.
- Ability to administer medications safely.
- Experience using Electronic Health Records.
- Ability to complete a four-week first-shift orientation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in state psychiatric hospitals.
- Experience managing high-acuity behavioral health patients.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary treatment planning.
- Experience responding to behavioral or medical emergencies.
- Flexibility to work assigned shifts.
