Title: Registered Nurse

Employment Type: 13-Week Contract

Compensation Range: $50 - $60 an Hour

Location: Concord, New Hampshire

Work Schedule: Days (7:00 AM–3:00 PM) or Evenings (3:00 PM–11:00 PM), five 8-hour shifts per week

A state-operated inpatient behavioral health hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to provide comprehensive psychiatric nursing care within a multidisciplinary treatment environment. The organization delivers inpatient behavioral health services while maintaining high standards for patient safety, clinical excellence, and therapeutic care.


Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care to psychiatric patients through clinical assessment, medication administration, treatment implementation, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This position supports a safe therapeutic environment while ensuring compliance with nursing standards and organizational policies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct physical, psychiatric, and admission assessments.
  • Administer prescribed medications.
  • Process physician orders accurately.
  • Monitor and document vital signs.
  • Perform blood glucose testing.
  • Complete prescribed treatments.
  • Conduct pain assessments.
  • Perform dressing changes.
  • Provide venipuncture services.
  • Maintain therapeutic milieu management.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Records (EHR) for documentation and clinical review.
  • Communicate patient findings verbally and in writing.
  • Initiate personal safety emergency procedures when necessary in accordance with agency policy.


Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse license.
  • Minimum of two years of psychiatric nursing experience.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience working in inpatient behavioral health settings.
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills.
  • Ability to administer medications safely.
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records.
  • Ability to complete a four-week first-shift orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in state psychiatric hospitals.
  • Experience managing high-acuity behavioral health patients.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary treatment planning.
  • Experience responding to behavioral or medical emergencies.
  • Flexibility to work assigned shifts.
