Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated Attorney to handle criminal defense cases and a limited number of civil matters in our Columbus, GA office. This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for someone who thrives in the courtroom, takes ownership of their caseload, and enjoys working in a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in misdemeanor and felony criminal cases from arraignment through resolution
- Handle occasional civil litigation matters as assigned
- Draft motions, pleadings, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and case analysis
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and colleagues in a professional and timely manner
- Attend and advocate in court regularly
- Participate in strategy sessions and firm meetings
What We’re Looking For:
- Georgia-licensed attorney in good standing
- 1–5 years of criminal law experience preferred (civil litigation experience a plus)
- Strong courtroom presence and legal writing skills
- A self-starter who takes initiative without needing constant oversight
- A team player who contributes to a collaborative culture
- Highly organized, reliable, and committed to client service
