Location: Michigan

\n

Compensation: $140,000 - $150,000 annually

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager - Testing & Maintenance to lead the operational delivery of electrical testing, commissioning, and maintenance services across power & infrastructure, renewable energy, data center, and commercial & industrial (C&I) projects throughout Michigan and surrounding areas.

\n


\n

The Operations Manager will have direct responsibility for Field Supervisors, Lead Technicians, and Electrical Testing Technicians, providing leadership, technical direction, workforce planning, and operational oversight to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction.

\n


\n

This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced electrical professional who understands power systems testing and maintenance and knows how to build, develop, and lead high-performing field teams. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable managing operations, people, and resources as they are discussing technical requirements with customers, project managers, and field personnel.

Leadership & Team Management

\n

The Operations Manager will be responsible for building a safe, accountable, and technically capable testing and maintenance organization.

\n


\n

Responsibilities include:

\n

    \n
  • Directly supervise Field Supervisors, Lead Technicians, and Electrical Testing Technicians.
  • \n

  • Establish clear expectations surrounding safety, quality, productivity, professionalism, and customer service.
  • \n

  • Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • \n

  • Develop career paths and training plans for field personnel.
  • \n

  • Identify high-potential employees and support their progression into leadership roles.
  • \n

  • Address performance and operational issues proactively and professionally.
  • \n

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
  • \n

  • Drive operational consistency and best practices across multiple field crews and project locations.
  • \n

\n

Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical testing, commissioning, field service, maintenance, power systems, or a related electrical discipline.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated experience leading field technicians, supervisors, or service teams.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of medium-voltage and low-voltage electrical distribution systems and equipment.
  • \n

  • Experience managing electrical testing and maintenance operations.
  • \n

  • Strong understanding of electrical testing procedures and field execution.
  • \n

  • Familiarity with NETA testing standards and industry best practices.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of electrical safety requirements, including NFPA 70E and OSHA.
  • \n

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, specifications, drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • \n

  • Proven ability to manage personnel, schedules, resources, and competing priorities.
  • \n

  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • \n

  • Ability to make effective decisions in fast-paced operational environments.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • \n

  • Willingness to travel throughout Michigan and surrounding markets.
  • \n

  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
  • \n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • NETA certification or significant experience with a NETA-accredited testing organization.
  • \n

  • Degree or technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology, or a related discipline.
  • \n

  • Experience with electrical commissioning, startup, and energization activities.
  • \n

  • Experience supporting mission-critical facilities and data center infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Experience with renewable energy facilities, substations, transmission and distribution systems, or utility-scale electrical infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Experience managing multiple field crews and concurrent projects.
  • \n

  • Experience with workforce planning, scheduling systems, ERP platforms, and field service management software.
  • \n

  • OSHA certifications or other relevant safety credentials.
  • \n
