- PM: 4pm to 12:30am
Position Summary The Cargo Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily driver and cargo movements to ensure safe, timely, and compliant transportation operations. This role serves as the central control point for dispatch, route planning, shipment tracking, airport coordination, and issue resolution—supporting life-sciences and temperature-controlled cargo. Dispatchers must be prepared to step in and operate 16–26 ft. trucks when operational coverage is needed. Key Responsibilities
- Dispatch, schedule, and monitor drivers for pickups, deliveries, and airport operations.
- Track shipments in real time and ensure adherence to airline cut-off times.
- Maintain accurate logs, shipment records, and compliance documentation.
- Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, airport personnel, and clients.
- Manage cold-chain and life-sciences shipments per SOPs and regulatory requirements (TSA, airport, safety).
- Develop contingency plans for delays, breakdowns, weather, or staffing shortages.
- Monitor vehicle readiness and report maintenance or safety concerns.
- Assist with loading/unloading (50+ lbs.) and provide driving support as needed.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel, SAP, or similar systems (preferred).
- Ability to operate 16–26 ft. cargo trucks.
- Flexible schedule; occasional after-hours support may be required.
- Occasional domestic/international travel may be required.
