We are a growing law firm in need of a strong paralegal that is self-motivated, knowledgeable and hard working. This job is a full-time, in office position.

We're a fast-paced firm, handling a lot of litigation, which has our attorneys on the go frequently. We need a paralegal to support us by preparing documents, filings, calendaring, communicating with clients, and making sure the case progresses. The main practice area will be civil litigation, but you may support other areas as needed. This position will support one of the partners and will likely grow to support other attorneys. Ideal candidates will have excellent experience in civil litigation. The position requires that the candidate be proactive and capable of independently working, following up, and responding to client questions. The candidate will have sufficient experience so they are capable of working independently of attorney direction as the circumstances call for.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing legal documents such as contracts, briefs, pleadings, as well as prepare and respond to discovery
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, court records, and other legal documents
- Prepare exhibits for trial or hearings
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and other parties involved in legal proceedings
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and court appearances for attorneys
- Perform general administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, managing calendars, and handling correspondence
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a paralegal, or have the ability to independently work on all matters related to the position for which you are being hired.
- Proficient in using document management systems such as Clio or similar software
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and review
- Familiarity with conducting legal research using online databases and resources
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in data entry and maintaining accurate records
