Role Description The Trailer Mechanic is a full-time, on-site role based in Elliston, VA. This position is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing company trailers and related equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Day-to-day tasks include performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, replacing or repairing brakes, suspensions, tires, lights, and structural components, and documenting all work performed. The Trailer Mechanic collaborates with operations staff to schedule repairs, prioritize urgent issues, and minimize equipment downtime while following all safety and compliance procedures. The role may also include basic maintenance of shop tools and heavy equipment used in trailer repair activities.\n
Qualifications

- Strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for trailers and related equipment.
- Experience performing Preventive Maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
- Ability to work with Heavy Equipment associated with trailer service and shop operations.
- Proficient in Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and structural issues on trailers.
- Previous experience as a trailer, truck, or heavy equipment mechanic preferred.
- Working knowledge of braking systems, suspensions, tires, lights, and DOT safety standards.
- Ability to read and follow work orders, safety guidelines, and basic technical documentation.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, and work in various outdoor and shop conditions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in diesel or equipment repair is a plus.
