HSI Construction Services, a division of Argus Monitoring Solutions, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician to join our growing team. In this hands-on role, you’ll support seismic monitoring and survey work across active construction and project sites while working in a fast-paced, field-based environment.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and relocate seismograph equipment at field locations
- Perform routine maintenance and prepare equipment for calibration and deployment
- Conduct pre-blast and pre-construction surveys (a primary responsibility)
- Communicate with property owners and site contacts to coordinate access and installations
- Download and analyze seismic data, compare with blast logs, and submit reports
- Use GPS and mapping tools to document equipment placement and site conditions
- Organize, label, and maintain digital files following company standards
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of all data and documentation
- Support team operations and assist with additional tasks as needed
- Represent HSI Construction Services professionally in the field
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required insurance
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office; ability to learn new systems
- Ability to follow detailed processes and maintain organized documentation
- Basic knowledge of seismograph equipment and GPS units is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry up to 68 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and site conditions
- Prior technical or field experience preferred, but not required
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
Work Environment & Travel
- Field-based role with occasional weeks exceeding 40 hours based on project needs
- Overnight and out-of-state travel required
- Frequent travel throughout the Northeast, including New York City (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens) and Connecticut
