Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and safety-minded Material Handler to join our production team on the day shift. In this role, you will be responsible for keeping our production line moving efficiently by loading raw materials directly onto machines and moving heavy stock around the facility. The ideal candidate must have extensive experience operating high-capacity machinery, specifically an overhead crane and a 25k forklift.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Loading: Safely transport and load heavy materials onto production machinery to minimize downtime.
- Equipment Operation: Professionally operate an overhead crane and a 25k forklift to move large, bulky, or heavy loads.
- Material Management: Staging, organizing, and tracking raw inventory and finished parts across the plant floor.
- Safety & Inspections: Conduct routine pre-use inspections on forklifts and crane equipment; immediately report any mechanical issues or defects.
- Receiving & Shipping: Assist with unloading incoming supply trucks and securing finished stock for shipment.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace around loading zones and production machinery.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in material handling, heavy manufacturing, or warehouse environments.
- Equipment Mastery: Proven and verifiable experience operating both an overhead crane and large-capacity forklifts (up to 25k).
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for the duration of a standard day shift.
- Precision: High attention to detail when positioning heavy materials onto high-precision machinery.
- Dependability: Strong attendance record and a focus on safety-first workplace practices.
