Mechanic Level I - Lift Truck Technician

Are you an experienced mechanic who enjoys troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment? Taylor Sudden Service is seeking a Mechanic Level I to join our team. In this role, you'll work on lift trucks and related equipment while developing your technical skills in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
This role requires working a bi-weekly rotating shift (6am-2pm CST/2pm CST-10pm CST) Availability to work weekends as needed
What You'll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair lift trucks and related equipment
- Troubleshoot gasoline, diesel, and propane engines
- Repair and maintain hydraulic, cooling, fuel, electrical, and exhaust systems
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment performance and reliability
- Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues
- Plan and coordinate equipment repairs, including estimating labor and materials
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Fabricate and weld components as needed
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records
- Ensure repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively
- Keep the shop and work areas clean and organized
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel mechanics, hydraulics, or equipment repair
- Experience troubleshooting gasoline, diesel, and propane engines
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and mechanical repairs
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read and understand technical materials and blueprints
- Basic computer skills
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical job duties including bending, stooping, and climbing
Education:
- Vocational training or formal education in diesel engine repair, hydraulics, or a related field preferred
- Relevant schooling may be considered in place of some work experience
