Description\n

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring neurology experience and NIHSS certification.

Details\n

    \n
  • Neuro Stepdown/Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
  • \n

  • Patient ratios of 1:4-5
  • \n

  • Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
  • \n

  • Every other weekend required
  • \n

  • No on-call requirements
  • \n

  • Floating between units required, including sister facilities
  • \n

  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n

Requirements\n

    \n
  • Active WA or compact RN license required, must be in hand at submission
  • \n

  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • \n

  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • \n

  • Neurology RN experience required, including care for post-surgical and various neurology diagnoses
  • \n

  • Comfortable using the NIH Stroke Scale
  • \n

  • Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management and chest tube management (Emerson/PleurEvac)
  • \n

  • Experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury care
  • \n

  • Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • \n

  • Experience with procedural sedation administration and monitoring
  • \n

  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
  • \n

  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • \n

  • Provide telemetry and neuro stepdown nursing care for a diverse neurology and cardiac patient population
  • \n

  • Scrub color for RNs is any color
  • \n

  • No parking fee at this facility
  • \n

  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for the travel rate; local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • \n

  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a travel employee and must be outside the 50-mile radius
  • \n

  • Only one active submission to a Providence facility is allowed at a time
  • \n

  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • \n

  • RTO requests should be submitted upfront during the application process to avoid delays
  • \n

  • Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
  • \n

  • Candidates must disclose any prior work history with Providence facilities, including permanent, travel, or per-diem roles
  • \n
