Shipping & Receiving Supervisor – Food Manufacturing
Temporary with opportunity for full-time after 90 days
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 1st or 2nd Shift, depending on business needs
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Supervisor to oversee daily shipping and receiving operations in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for leading the Shipping & Receiving team, ensuring accurate shipments and deliveries, maintaining inventory organization, and supporting company safety, quality, GMP, and SQF food safety standards.
Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct daily Shipping & Receiving operations.
- Lead, train, and support Shipping & Receiving Clerks.
- Communicate with drivers, carriers, customers, and internal departments.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, GMPs, and SQF food safety standards.
- Inspect shipping, receiving, freezer, cooler, and dock areas daily.
- Maintain accurate shipping documentation and records.
- Monitor inventory organization in freezer, cooler, and dry storage areas.
- Coordinate daily workload and priorities for the Shipping & Receiving team.
- Ensure department cleanliness, organization, and safety.
- Report equipment issues and coordinate service when needed.
- Authorize overtime as directed and communicate operational needs to management.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain quality standards.
- Serve as backup for the Shipping & Receiving Manager when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of Shipping & Receiving or warehouse experience.
- 1+ year of supervisory or lead experience required.
- Strong leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience operating electric forklifts and pallet jacks preferred.
- Knowledge of GMP and food safety practices preferred.
- Experience with inventory management, ERP/WMS systems, or RF scanners is a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments ranging from 0°ree;F to 40°ree;F.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment with slippery floors and moderate noise.
