Employment Type: W2 Contract – 24 Months with Possibility for Extensions
Pay Rate: $30.00–$34.00/hour – Determined based on experience (Paid Weekly)

Role Overview
BEPC is seeking an experienced Research Associate III - Assay Development to support our customer’s research and development laboratory operations in Tucson, AZ.
This hands-on laboratory position will conduct research, development, and manufacturing experimentation in support of assay development projects. The role is responsible for designing and executing experiments, analyzing and interpreting data, troubleshooting technical challenges, and preparing scientific documentation while working with minimal supervision.
The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences with 4–6 years of relevant post-college experience, strong wet-laboratory skills, and demonstrated experience working within regulated laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision.
- Conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experiments in support of assay development projects.
- Make detailed experimental observations and analyze resulting data.
- Interpret experimental findings and apply technical expertise to project strategies.
- Prepare technical reports, experimental summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
- Present experimental results and technical findings to project teams.
- Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow applicable GMP, GLP, Design Control, and company quality requirements.
- Troubleshoot experimental and technical problems and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Exercise scientific judgment when selecting methods and techniques to address complex problems.
- Search and evaluate relevant scientific literature to support experimental activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members and contribute creative solutions to project planning.
- Identify and recommend opportunities for laboratory and process improvements.
- Assist in identifying potentially patentable inventions arising from research activities.
- Train colleagues on applicable laboratory methods and procedures.
- Monitor work activities to support quality and continuous adherence to Quality First Time principles.
- Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software to analyze, document, and communicate scientific information.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences.
- 4–6 years of relevant post-college professional experience.
- Hands-on experience performing wet-laboratory experimentation.
- Proficiency with laboratory techniques and equipment such as:

- Pipetting
- Balances
- Stir plates
- Other standard wet-laboratory tools and techniques
- Ability to independently design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
- Ability to troubleshoot laboratory or experimental problems and implement corrective actions.
- Ability to search and evaluate scientific literature.
- Experience preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
- Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate laboratory documentation.
- Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Collaborative and coachable approach with a demonstrated ability and desire to learn.
- Ability to work fully onsite in Tucson, AZ.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working under GMP, GLP, and/or Design Control requirements.
- Previous assay development experience.
- Experience supporting research, development, or manufacturing laboratory projects.
- Experience training or providing technical guidance to laboratory colleagues.
- Experience contributing to process improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with SAFe/Agile planning processes and reporting frameworks.
