DELMIAWorks Pre-Sales & Technical Support Engineer
Job Description
Job Description
**Manufacturing Technology | ERP/MES | Customer Consulting | Technical Problem Solving
Do you understand manufacturing—and enjoy figuring out how technology can make it better?
**
Are you someone who can walk into a conversation with a manufacturer, understand how their operation works today, identify where their systems or processes are holding them back, and help them envision a better way forward?
And do you enjoy being the technical expert customers and sales teams rely on when the questions get complicated?
If so, we’d like to talk.
**
The Opportunity:
**
GSC is looking for aDELMIAWorks Pre-Sales & Technical Support Engineerto become a key technical resource supporting both prospective and existing manufacturing customers. This is predominantly a remote role, however the majority of our customer baseis in and around Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota and surrounding markets. There would be needs,at times,to make a customer visit (although we expect this to be infrequent)and therefore somebody who lived closer to the customer basewould be ideal, but it's far from necessary)
This isn't strictly a sales role—and it isn't strictly a technical support role.
Instead, you'll sit at the intersection ofmanufacturing, technology, consulting, and customer success.
You'll partner with our Sales team to understand how manufacturers operate today, uncover their challenges, and demonstrate how DELMIAWorks ERP and MES solutions can improve visibility, efficiency, production management, and decision-making.
You'll also work directly with existing customers, helping troubleshoot technical challenges, optimize their DELMIAWorks environments, and get greater value from their technology.
In short, you'll help manufacturers answer two important questions:
"What could our operation look like with the right ERP/MES solution?"
and
"How do we make sure we're getting everything possible from the technology we already have?"
**
Why GSC?
**
For more than 30 years, GSC has helped engineering and manufacturing organizations improve the way they design, manage, and manufacture products.
Today, as part of the Ellison Technologies family, our capabilities extend across an extraordinary portion of the manufacturing process—from engineering and SOLIDWORKS to ERP/MES, manufacturing technology, additive manufacturing, advanced machine tools, automation, implementation, training, and technical support.
That creates an exciting environment for someone who enjoysmanufacturing technology and solving real-world business problems.
You won't simply learn a software product.
You'll develop a deeper understanding of how manufacturers operate—and how technology can help them become more productive, competitive, and profitable.
**
What You'll Do:
**
Become the Technical Partner to Sales
You'll work alongside our Sales team throughout the DELMIAWorks sales process.
That means participating in customer discovery conversations, asking the right questions, understanding the customer's existing ERP/MES environment, and identifying challenges involving areas such as:
- Production and manufacturing workflows
- Scheduling and shop-floor visibility
- Inventory and materials
- Reporting and business intelligence
- Quality
- Data and system integrations
- Existing ERP/MES systems
- Engineering and manufacturing processes
- Future growth and scalability
You'll then help translate those challenges into potential DELMIAWorks solutions.
Show Customers What's Possible
Once you understand the customer's environment, you'll help bring the solution to life.
You'll conduct tailored DELMIAWorks demonstrations and presentations that connect the technology directly to the customer's business challenges.
Rather than simply demonstrating features, you'll help customers understand:
- Here's what you're doing today.
- Here's what could improve.
- Here's how DELMIAWorks can help you get there.
You'll also help develop high-level migration and implementation roadmaps outlining current state, future state, implementation phases, integrations, data migration, training, and other key considerations.
Solve Problems for Existing Customers
You'll also become a trusted technical resource for our DELMIAWorks customers.
You'll investigate and resolve issues involving software functionality, configurations, workflows, databases, integrations, and system performance.
Some problems will be straightforward. Others will require you to dig deeper, identify the root cause, collaborate with internal and DELMIAWorks technical resources, and determine the best solution.
Either way, our customers should come away knowing they have someone who understands their problem and is committed to helping solve it.
**
What We're Looking For:
We're looking for someone who combinestechnical aptitude with curiosity, communication skills, and an understanding of manufacturing.
**
Ideally, you'll bring experience with DELMIAWorks/IQMS. However, we're also interested in individuals with strong ERP/MES or manufacturing software experience who have the ability and desire to quickly develop deep DELMIAWorks expertise.
You may be a great fit if you have:
- ERP and/or MES experience
- Manufacturing industry experience
- DELMIAWorks or IQMS experience
- ERP implementation, migration, or consulting experience
- Technical support or applications engineering experience
- Experience conducting software demonstrations or customer discovery
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- An understanding of manufacturing processes and workflows
- The ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Experience working directly with customers
Experience withSOLIDWORKS, SQL/databases, CAD/CAM, manufacturing software, or the SOLIDWORKS reseller environmentwould be an additional advantage.
A bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline is preferred, although we absolutely value equivalent real-world industry experience.
You Don't Have to Know Everything on Day One
We recognize that finding someone who checks every box—DELMIAWorks, ERP, MES, manufacturing, technical support, consulting, demonstrations, and pre-sales—is a tall order.
We're more interested in finding someone with theright foundation and ability to learn.
If you understand manufacturing and ERP/MES environments, enjoy solving technical problems, communicate well with customers, and have the aptitude to become a DELMIAWorks expert, we'd like to hear from you.
Candidates who aren't currently DELMIAWorks Technical Support Certified should be prepared to work toward certification within approximately the first3–4 months.
**
What Success Looks Like:
**
Within your first six months, our goal is for you to become a trusted DELMIAWorks resource who can confidently:
- Handle a broad range of technical support issues
- Participate in customer discovery meetings
- Understand a manufacturer's current ERP/MES environment
- Identify business and manufacturing challenges
- Translate those challenges into DELMIAWorks solutions
- Demonstrate DELMIAWorks effectively
- Develop high-level migration roadmaps
- Help Sales identify technical requirements and potential risks
- Build strong relationships with prospective and existing customers
Ultimately, success means customers and teammates begin saying:
"Let's bring them into the conversation—they'll know how to figure this out."
