Pinnacle Engineering Group (PEG) is actively seeking a 2027 Civil Engineer Intern to join our team of professionals. Founded in 2011 with office locations in Wisconsin and Illinois, our team provides the highest quality civil engineering design, land surveying, landscape architecture and consulting services in the industry for infrastructure projects. PEG works with a wide variety of clients; ranging from 100+ acre properties like Amazon, Uline and Haribo, to smaller parcels like Aldi, Starbucks, Children's Hospital and many more!

Summary
The Civil Engineer Intern is responsible for developing foundational engineering knowledge and skills through mentorship and hands-on project support. The Civil Engineer Intern contributes to design, drafting, and documentation efforts while applying basic engineering principles and standards. This role supports team objectives while promoting professional growth, strong communication, and adherence to safety and quality expectations.

- Acquire knowledge base and skills through mentoring and self-directed learning.
- Prepare engineering calculations, design elements, basic drafting and technical analyses under supervision.
- Assist in the preparation of plans, specifications, reports, and other project documentation.
- Use basic CAD drafting skills (Civil 3D preferred) and office software proficiently.
- Apply established design methods, applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
- Support the team in delivering estimation of time to complete tasks on schedule and proactively communicate if delays occur.
- Perform work in accordance with company standards, safety policies, and ethical guidelines.
- Seek guidance and mentoring from senior engineers and apply feedback to improve performance.
- Perform additional duties as directed to meet project and company goals.
- Maintain professionalism, safety, and compliance with company standards.
Qualifications
- Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field from an accredited program.
- Must have completed at least 1 year of study.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- Basic CAD drafting experience: (Civil 3D preferred).
