Job Description:
Our client, an international AmLaw 100 firm, is looking to hire a Senior Legal Talent Manager at their offices in New York City. The position will allow for a hybrid work schedule with 4 days a week onsite, 1 remote, and will pay an annual base salary of $180K to $210K plus a performance-based bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
The Senior Legal Talent Manager – Litigation will support Practice Groups within the Litigation Department focusing on talent management, lateral integration, the evaluation process and helping implement strategic plans for their responsible Practice Groups.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to the Practice Group Heads in connection with overall administration of the department including advancing talent development, retention, and firm culture.
- Serve as the liaison between the partners and the Finance department for any reporting needs; utilize financial reporting, analytics, and benchmarking to monitor growth and improve associate productivity.
- Strategize with Practice Group leadership and members of the Legal Talent Management-Litigation team to develop, implement and enforce firm policies and new initiatives.
- Oversee the mentorship programming at all levels for the Practice Groups.
- In collaboration with Legal Talent Management – Litigation team, assist with the annual evaluation process for income partners, associates and counsel and monitor identified performance issues in the assigned Practice Groups.
- Develop relationships with and serve as a resource for associates and counsel in connection with professional development, interpersonal issues, morale, and firm life.
- Assist with lateral attorney integration and development to facilitate effective transition into their Practice Groups and the Litigation Department.
- In collaboration with the Legal Talent Management -Litigation team, conduct exit interviews with departing associates and compile and analyze attrition data.
- Oversee planning and coordination of Practice Group meetings and events.
- Liaise with other administrative departments, including Finance, Recruiting, Professional Development & Training, Career Development, Inclusion and Business Development in furtherance of the above.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree required. J.D. Preferred
- At least 7-10 years of law firm experience; with a minimum of 5 years of law firm experience; experience in practice group or talent management in large law firm preferred.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with attorneys and staff throughout the Firm.
- Highly organized and self-directed approach to work with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with intense client service orientation.
- Creativity in developing solutions and achieving results.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of personnel and other sensitive matters.
