ISC's team of Recruiters is partnering with an established environmental services organization to identify an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Yellow Iron) to support Missouri post-collection operations. This position will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of heavy equipment across multiple operating locations.
\n
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CAT heavy equipment mechanic who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, working independently, and keeping mission-critical equipment safe, reliable, and operational.

What You'll Do
\n
- \n
- Perform repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on CAT heavy equipment and vehicles, including bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and other yellow iron machinery.
- Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Identify equipment issues and complete or recommend appropriate repairs to maintain reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions independently and prioritize repairs to support daily operations.
- Maintain accurate service and maintenance records.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Work collaboratively with fleet management and operations teams to keep equipment properly maintained and operational.
- Travel between Missouri operating locations as needed.

What We're Looking For
\n
- \n
- Minimum 4+ years of experience as a CAT heavy equipment mechanic.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of heavy equipment systems and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, pushing, and pulling objects up to 100 lbs., and to work outdoors in varying weather and landfill conditions.

Preferred Experience
\n
- \n
- ASE Diesel Certification or equivalent technical certification.
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, excavators, and similar equipment.
- Familiarity with landfill or construction environments.
- Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, brake, air, and suspension systems.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and proper PPE use.

Compensation
\n
Base Salary: $100,000-$123,000 DOE
