Job Overview
Machine operators load a big mixer with different powder minerals with a forklift and mix the material by pushing a few buttons to automate the mixing process. Then the material gets loaded it to a super sack ready for it to either be bagged or put on the shelf for inventory.
Maker of chemical powders that help with metal castings at foundries. It is a very dusty environment and requires certain PPE:
- Dust mask/respirator – In production
- Hard hat
- Safety glasses
- Long sleeves and long pants
- Steel toed boots
- High vise
- Hearing protection – In production
- Gloves
Duties:
- Run mixing machines for batch mixing of material.
- Regularly operate forklift.
- Regularly move raw materials from warehousing to blending operations.
- Track and record dosage, lot numbers, scrap, and production issues.
- Housekeeping duties, such as sweeping in maintenance, production, warehouse, and plant
- parking areas, and general clean-up. Make sure all material is returned to proper containers or
- trash area as directed.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as required to maintain an efficient operation.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing
- Basic understanding of general manufacturing safety.
- Evidence of exceptional ability: Clear communication, teamwork, problem solving skills, and
- ability to adapt quickly to changes.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for 10+ hrs. daily.
- Ability to climb stairs
