Weekdays - Monday - Friday (7am-2pm)
Position Summary
The Tennis Department Maintenance Associate is responsible for maintaining the quality, cleanliness, and overall presentation of the Club’s tennis facilities. During the spring and summer, the primary focus is the daily maintenance and preparation of the Club’s six outdoor Har-Tru courts. During the fall and winter, the position shifts to supporting the indoor tennis facility.
The Maintenance Associate works closely with the Tennis Director and tennis professionals to ensure the facilities consistently meet Club standards.
Primary ResponsibilitiesSpring / Summer – Outdoor Tennis Facility
- Maintain and prepare six outdoor Har-Tru clay courts daily.
- Perform routine court maintenance, including rolling, brushing, watering, sweeping, and line maintenance.
- Monitor court conditions and adjust maintenance based on weather and court usage.
- Maintain hoses, irrigation systems, nets, windscreens, gates, and other court equipment.
- Keep courts and surrounding areas clean, organized, and free of trash and weeds.
- Maintain water and towel stations so they are clean, stocked, and organized.
- Assist with setup and breakdown for leagues, tournaments, clinics, and other tennis events.
- Proactively identify and report maintenance or facility issues to the Tennis Director.
Fall / Winter – Indoor Tennis Facility
- Maintain cleanliness of indoor courts, walkways, seating areas, restrooms, and common areas.
- Perform routine cleaning and general facility upkeep.
- Assist with light maintenance and basic repairs, including paint touch-ups and changing light fixtures.
- Maintain organized storage areas and tennis maintenance equipment.
- Assist with events, clinics, leagues, and other Tennis Department needs.
Physical & Licensing Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid and active driver’s license.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, standing, and walking for extended periods.
Qualifications
- General maintenance, groundskeeping, or tennis court experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, irrigation, lighting, and facility upkeep.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable, proactive, and professional.
- Positive attitude and understanding of the importance of member service in a private club environment.
Schedule
- Seasonal responsibilities shift between outdoor and indoor operations.
- Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, and occasional evenings based on the tennis schedule, weather, and special events.
This position is an important part of maintaining the quality, appearance, and overall member experience of the Club’s tennis facilities.
