Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Senior HVAC Design Engineer, PE, in Orange County to lead mechanical design on large commercial projects from concept through construction coordination.
Impact
- Engineer central plant, hydronic, and custom air handling systems on major commercial and healthcare programs.
- Reduce field conflicts through design-build coordination across HVAC, piping, and sheet metal.
- Seal documents that meet code, energy, and schedule requirements.
- Keep large mechanical scopes on budget with preconstruction and project teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead design of chilled water, heating hot water, DDC controls, central plants, and laboratory exhaust.
- Develop and seal construction documents in Revit MEP at field-ready accuracy.
- Run load and energy modeling in Trace, HAP, eQuest, or EnergyPro.
- Coordinate mechanical design across disciplines during preconstruction.
Must-Haves
- Licensed Professional Engineer.
- Senior-level HVAC design experience on large commercial or healthcare projects.
- Strong Revit MEP skills and energy modeling proficiency.
Nice-to-Haves
- Design-build contractor experience.
- Laboratory or healthcare system expertise.
