Position Overview
The Assistant Warehouse Manager is a vital, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation, loading, and return of party rental inventory. This position assists the party rental divisions manager in planning, coordinating, and executing social or corporate gatherings, like birthday parties, weddings, celebrations and other indoor/outdoor events. You will oversee daily warehouse operations, supervise all warehouse staff, and maintain the quality of items ranging from tables, chairs, dance floors to linens, china and glassware, etc.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Management: Oversee the pulling, staging, and packing of orders to ensure 100% accuracy before delivery. Check stock levels at all times.
- Warehouse Cleanliness: Ensure the party area warehouse is kept clean and organized on a daily basis.
- Quality Control: Inspect all rental items (linens, dishware, furniture, equipment) upon return for cleanliness, damage, and missing parts.
- Team Leadership: Train, schedule, and supervise warehouse staff and delivery crews. Enforce a positive, safe, and productive work culture.
- Fleet Coordination: Assist with loading/unloading delivery trucks and help route local deliveries for maximum efficiency.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA safety standards, maintain a clean and organized workspace, and ensure all equipment is safely stored and maintained.
- Order Fulfillment: Manage warehouse logistics for high-volume weekends and peak event seasons.
- Annual Review: Perform annual reviews of all warehouse staff under the party division.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 3-5 years of warehouse or logistics experience, preferably in the event, tenting, or party rental industry.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and direct a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift/move heavy equipment (up to \(50\) lbs) and stand/walk for extended periods.
- Tech Skills: Proficiency with inventory tracking software (Party Track) and basic computer applications.
- Licensing: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL is often a plus but not always required).
- Flexibility: Willingness to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, during the peak event season
