The Direct Support Professional Floater provides direct care and supervision to individuals served within the Medical Residential Team. This role supports three designated medical homes located in Lenoir City and Loudon.
This is a guaranteed full time position working 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with days varying based on program needs. The schedule frequently includes weekend shifts. This position does not have a permanent home assignment. The DSP Floater must be flexible, dependable, and prepared to rotate between the three medical homes as coverage needs arise.
The individuals supported within the medical homes may have higher medical needs in addition to personal care and behavioral support needs. The Floater must be comfortable working in environments that require attentiveness, structure, and consistent follow through.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide direct supervision and support in three assigned medical residential homes as scheduled
• Assist individuals with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal support
• Support individuals with medical needs as trained and directed by nursing staff
• Implement person centered support plans and behavioral support strategies
• Accurately complete documentation in compliance with agency and state requirements
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, nurses, and team members regarding concerns or changes in condition
• Maintain a safe, structured, and respectful home environment
• Follow all Adult Community Training policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
Work Environment
The DSP Floater rotates between three medical team homes. Work schedules vary week to week and often include weekends. The role requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and the ability to step into different team dynamics while maintaining consistency in care and professionalism.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist individuals as required
• Ability to provide hands on personal care
• Ability to respond promptly to medical or behavioral concerns
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to work a flexible rotating schedule, including frequent weekends
• Reliable transportation to travel between the three homes in Lenoir City and Loudon
• Ability to pass required background screenings
• Successful completion of pre employment drug screening. CBD products may result in a failed drug test
Schedule
Full time hours guaranteed
12 hour shifts from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Days vary based on staffing needs and frequently include weekends
