Project Coordinator / Manager – Slusarski Excavating and Paving, Inc
Position Summary
We are seeking an organized, dependable, and experienced Project Manager / Estimator to oversee excavation and site-development projects from initial planning through completion. This position will coordinate with field management, subcontractors, suppliers, and to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has experience in excavation, site work, construction, utilities, or a related field and understands the day-to-day demands of managing active construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and manage excavation, grading, site preparation, utility, drainage, and related construction projects.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate project schedule with field crew leadership, subcontractors and supplier.
- Communicate with customers, general contractors, engineers, municipalities, and other project stakeholders.
- Review plans, specifications, site conditions, and project requirements.
- Track project progress, labor, equipment, materials, and production.
- Estimating, bidding, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Monitor project costs and help ensure work remains within budget.
- Schedule and coordinate deliveries, materials, and subcontractors.
- Conduct or participate in jobsite meetings and maintain clear communication between the office and field.
- Identify potential delays, conflicts, or cost issues and develop solutions.
- Ensure projects comply with company policies, contract requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate daily reports, time records, project documentation, and customer communications.
- Work closely with foremen and field personnel to address jobsite issues and keep production moving.
- Review completed work and assist with project closeout, billing, and final documentation.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, quality, accountability, and professionalism.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in excavation, construction, site development, utilities, or project management preferred.
- Strong understanding of excavation and construction processes.
- Ability to read and understand construction plans, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ProCore, Sage
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to work in an outdoor construction environment and visit active jobsites as needed.
- OSHA/safety training and construction certifications are a plus.

Schedule
Full-time position. Typical hours are Monday–Friday, with additional hours or occasional weekend work as required by project schedules and weather conditions.
Physical Requirements
This position requires regular travel to active construction sites, including walking on uneven terrain and exposure to outdoor weather conditions. The employee may occasionally need to climb, bend, lift, or access active work areas while following all applicable safety requirements.
