Tool Crib Attendant – CNC Manufacturing
Job Summary
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing, organizing, and maintaining the company’s tooling and related supplies used in CNC machining operations. This position ensures machinists have the correct tools and materials available when needed while maintaining accurate inventory and a clean, organized tool crib.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue, receive, and track cutting tools, toolholders, gauges, inserts, and related supplies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform routine inventory counts.
- Organize and maintain the tool crib to ensure tools and supplies are easily accessible.
- Prepare tooling and supplies for CNC production jobs according to work orders or setup requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate when items need to be reordered.
- Inspect returned tooling for damage, wear, or missing components.
- Maintain proper identification and storage of tooling.
- Assist machinists and setup personnel with locating and obtaining required tooling.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Follow company safety procedures and quality requirements.
- Perform other duties related to tooling and inventory as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, machine shop, tool crib, or warehouse environment preferred.
- Basic understanding of CNC machining tools and terminology is a plus.
- Ability to read basic work orders, tool lists, and inventory information.
- Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to lift and move tooling and materials as required.
Work Environment
This position is performed in a CNC manufacturing environment and may involve standing for extended periods, frequent walking, and handling tooling and materials. Proper PPE and adherence to all company safety procedures are required.
