Job Title: Senior AI Fullstack Engineer

12+ Months Contract

Role Overview

Client is seeking a highly skilled Senior AI Fullstack Engineer to design, develop, and deploy AI-enabled software solutions that support clinical development. This role sits within the Clinical Data Insights & Automation (CDI&A) team and involves close collaboration with AI scientists, product managers, and cross-functional clinical stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will bring strong full stack engineering expertise combined with hands-on experience integrating LLMs, generative AI, and AI-assisted automation into production-grade applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy full stack applications supporting clinical development initiatives
• Integrate AI/LLM capabilities to enhance data processing and natural language workflows
• Build intuitive, user-centric front-end interfaces
• Develop and maintain RESTful APIs using Python-based frameworks (FastAPI, Django, Flask)
• Collaborate with AI scientists to integrate generative AI, RAG, and chatbot solutions
• Implement scalable, fault-tolerant system designs for distributed applications
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman)
• Monitor production systems and improve performance, reliability, and observability
• Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code and participate in code reviews
• Stay current with advancements in generative AI, LLMs, and ML best practices

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field
• 5+ years of full stack software development experience
• 4+ years of front-end development (Vue.js preferred; React acceptable)
• Strong backend experience with Python and/or JavaScript frameworks
• 2+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML-enabled applications
• Experience with REST APIs, prompt engineering, and LLM integration
• Strong automated testing experience (Python unittest, Jest, Playwright)
• Experience with containerized architectures (Docker, Kubernetes, Podman)
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Strong system design skills for scalable, distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and modern data platforms (Snowflake)
• Excellent communication skills, including explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI agents, RAG pipelines, and chatbot applications
• Experience with Hugging Face, LangChain, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks
• Experience with bias, fairness, and evaluation of LLM systems
• Experience developing Microsoft Word add-ins using Office.js
• Knowledge of JWT, WebSockets, CRDTs (e.g., Yjs)
• Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD best practices
• Experience applying NLP/LLMs to clinical or healthcare text
• Basic understanding of clinical drug development
