We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join a nationally recognized law firm with an established litigation practice in Jackson, Mississippi. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, and legal memoranda.
- Manage written discovery, including drafting requests, responses, and objections.
- Develop litigation strategies and contribute to practical solutions for complex legal matters.
- Assist with depositions, witness preparation, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation.
- Support litigation matters through all phases of the legal process.
- Prepare and review court filings in state and federal courts.
- Draft client correspondence, legal opinions, and case summaries.
- Collaborate closely with attorneys, legal support staff, and clients to deliver exceptional service.
- Manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Build trusted relationships with clients through responsive, professional legal counsel.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Mississippi or ability to obtain licensure promptly.
- 3+ years of litigation experience preferred.
- Top 10–15% academic standing required.
- Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal communication and professional presence.
- Experience drafting motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments in a deadline-driven environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Motivated, proactive approach with a genuine interest in litigation practice.
Compensation
- $135,000–150,000, depending on experience.
