Job DescriptionJob Start Date September 1, 2026 August 5, 2026 POSITION: Mechanic LOCATION: Transportation JOB SUMMARY: The Mechanic will provide efficient, economical vehicle service and repairs ensuring the safe, efficient operating conditions of all school system vehicles and equipment. QUALIFICATIONS:Vocational diploma in Automotive or related field;Minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a mechanic;In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostic equipment and mechanical systems;Must possess or attain and maintain a valid Georgia commercial driver's license with a "P" and "S" endorsement within 90 days of the hire date;Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to apply critical thinking skills and recommendations in rendering solutions to various issues;Ability to maintain equipment records;Positive job attitude and the ability to work with others;Must have excellent organizational skills;Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
