Direct Counsel is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join the Rogers, Arkansas office of a nationally recognized law firm.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in developing a sophisticated litigation practice while working alongside experienced partners on complex, high-stakes matters.
The ideal candidate will have up to five years of experience in health care litigation, commercial litigation, or general civil litigation. However, attorneys with strong academic credentials and a demonstrated interest in litigation are encouraged to apply, even without prior litigation experience.
This position offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility early in your career, work directly with clients, and gain hands-on experience in federal and state courts, as well as arbitration proceedings nationwide.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and assist with a diverse range of complex civil litigation matters in federal and state courts and arbitration forums throughout the country.

Handle all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, pretrial preparation, and resolution.

Draft pleadings, substantive motions, briefs, and other litigation documents.

Take and defend fact and expert witness depositions.

Participate in court hearings, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial proceedings.

Conduct sophisticated legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.

Communicate directly with clients regarding case developments, legal strategies, and potential resolutions.

Collaborate closely with partners and other attorneys on complex litigation matters.

Take on increasing responsibility for case management and litigation strategy as experience develops.

Manage multiple matters while maintaining high standards of accuracy, professionalism, and client service.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Active Arkansas Bar membership in good standing, or eligibility to obtain admission within one year of hire.

Excellent academic credentials.

Exceptional legal research, analytical, and writing skills.

Strong oral advocacy and interpersonal communication abilities.

Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work within established deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Up to five years of experience in civil or commercial litigation.

Experience in one or more of the following practice areas:

Health care litigation
-
Complex commercial and business litigation
-
Medical malpractice defense
-
Product liability
-
General tort litigation
-

Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and substantive briefs.

Experience taking or defending depositions, participating in hearings, or preparing cases for trial.

Demonstrated interest in assuming substantive responsibility for complex litigation matters.
Prior litigation experience is preferred but not required. Newly admitted attorneys and candidates seeking to develop their litigation careers are encouraged to apply.
