Lean Manufacturing Site Leader (Fargo)
Job Description
Job DescriptionAre you ready to own a plant and elevate every shift?
Imagine stepping into a Fargo, North Dakota operation where your leadership sets the tone for safety, quality, delivery, and cost—every single day. At RiteScreen, one of North America’s largest manufacturers of window and door screens, we serve national customers, grow steadily, and back our teams with real investment. We primarily run Monday through Friday, adding weekend overtime only when business demand requires it.
Your Mission
Lead a people-first manufacturing site where respect and accountability drive results. You’ll have full ownership of the facility and the support of a growing national organization behind you.
What success looks like
Picture this: production schedules synchronized with customer demand; material flow steady and visible; equipment reliability strengthened through proactive maintenance; and every line advancing through lean-driven improvements. Safety is non-negotiable—observations are routine, incidents are investigated thoroughly, and corrective actions are closed fast. Quality issues don’t linger; you own the plant-level quality management system and push root cause analysis until escapes are eliminated. KPIs are reported weekly and monthly with clear insights and action plans, while costs go down without trading away culture, safety, or quality.
How you’ll get there
- Lead daily operations to consistently meet production, quality, safety, and cost targets.
- Drive continuous improvement with lean methodologies across all production lines.
- Build and maintain schedules that align with customer demand and business goals.
- Improve equipment uptime via proactive maintenance planning and execution.
- Partner with supply chain to maintain material flow and manage inventory effectively.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team; grow supervisors and team leads.
- Conduct meaningful performance conversations with real-time coaching and feedback.
- Cultivate an inclusive culture where everyone has an equal opportunity to contribute and grow.
- Lead safety observations, investigations, and corrective actions; ensure OSHA and policy compliance.
- Own the plant’s quality system; collaborate with quality to achieve customer satisfaction targets.
- Manage the plant budget across labor, materials, overhead, and capital; partner with finance on forecast accuracy.
- Identify and execute cost reductions without compromising safety, quality, or team culture.
What you bring
- 5+ years in manufacturing plant or operations management.
- Track record of building and developing high-performing production teams.
- Deep familiarity with lean, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Experience managing plant-level budgets and delivering cost reductions.
- Knowledge of employment law and OSHA compliance.
- ERP system experience required.
- Exceptional communication skills—equally strong on the floor and in the boardroom.
- High emotional intelligence and a servant leadership style.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business, or related field preferred.
