Position Summary
Crystal Structures is seeking an experienced Glazing Foreman to lead a crew of 4-5 glaziers on commercial glazing installations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for keeping crews on schedule, ensuring installation quality and safety compliance, and serving as the primary point of coordination between the crew and project management on assigned jobsites.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, Install, and coordinate a crew of 4-5 glaziers on glazing installations, including curtain wall, storefront, and window systems
- Build, manage, and enforce daily and weekly work schedules to keep jobs on time and on budget
- Read and interpret architectural and shop drawings to guide accurate installation
- Assign daily tasks to crew members based on experience level and project needs
- Conduct on-site quality control checks to ensure installations meet company and code standards
- Enforce jobsite safety protocols and OSHA compliance; lead toolbox talks and safety briefings
- Coordinate material, tool, and equipment needs with the shop and project management team
- Communicate progress, delays, and issues to the project manager
- Train and mentor crew members, providing feedback on performance and technique
- Maintain accurate daily field reports, time tracking, and job documentation
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in commercial glazing, with at least 1-2 years in a lead or foreman capacity
- Strong working knowledge of glazing systems: curtain wall, storefront, window wall
- Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and shop drawings
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a field crew
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety standards and OSHA requirements
- Valid driver's license; reliable transportation to jobsites
- Ability to work at heights and operate use of lifts and related equipment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly and work in varied outdoor weather conditions
- Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work at heights for extended periods
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts
