Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Shift Manager to lead production operations during second shift and oversee 20-30 production members. The Shift Manager will ensure safe, efficient and compliant production of high-quality products, meet daily output and cost targets, lead and develop shift teams, and drive continuous improvement in processes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise production teams; set priorities and allocate resources to meet daily production plans and KPIs.
- Ensure all production activities comply with food safety, GMP, HACCP and company quality standards; work closely with QA to resolve non-conformances.
- Drive attainment of production targets for volume, yield, quality and on-time delivery while controlling waste and operating costs.
- Create and manage shift schedules, approve timekeeping, and coordinate team coverage
- Troubleshoot production and equipment issues on shift and coordinate with maintenance and engineering to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports and handovers; communicate critical information to incoming shifts and management.
- Lead safety initiatives on shift, conduct safety observations and ensure corrective actions are completed to maintain a safe work environment.
- Support continuous improvement projects by identifying opportunities for process optimization
Qualifications
- 5+ years of food manufacturing experience
- Proven leadership experience as a Shift Manager, Production Supervisor, or Production Lead
- Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, GMP, BRC/SQF or equivalent)
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely decisions under pressure
- Excellent communication and people-management skills with experience delivering training and performance coaching.
- Relevant qualifications in Food Technology, Manufacturing, and Lean/Six Sigma exposure are a plus!.
