La Esquina Mexican Grill in Thousand Oaks, CA is looking for a skilled and passionate Cook to join our kitchen team! Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook authentic Mexican menu items to order with consistency and quality
- Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and food presentation standards
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation throughout each shift
- Monitor food inventory, freshness, and proper storage procedures
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, efficient service during peak hours
- Adhere to all food safety and health code regulations
- Assist with prep work including chopping, marinating, and sauce preparation
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a cook, line cook, or prep cook required
- Familiarity with Mexican cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Food Handler's Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
