Role Description The Jared Diamond Department Manager is a full-time, on-site role located in Aurora, IL. This role oversees daily operations of the diamond department, including merchandising, inventory management, and visual presentation in line with company standards. The Manager leads and develops team members through coaching, product knowledge training, and performance feedback to ensure exceptional customer experiences. Responsibilities include engaging customers, providing expert guidance on diamond and fashion jewelry selections, and supporting sales goals through consultative selling. The role also involves maintaining quality control for polishing and care of merchandise, ensuring compliance with store policies, and collaborating with store leadership to achieve operational and financial objectives.

Qualifications

- Strong jewelry expertise, including Jewelry Design and knowledge of Fashion Jewelry, with the ability to guide customers on product selection and styles.
- Demonstrated Customer Service skills, with a focus on building relationships, handling inquiries, and resolving concerns professionally.
- Experience with jewelry care and Polishing, ensuring merchandise is presented and maintained to high quality standards.
- Proven Training abilities to coach, mentor, and develop team members in product knowledge, selling skills, and service standards.
- Previous retail or specialty jewelry management experience, including supervising teams and meeting sales or performance targets.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
- Comfort working in an on-site retail environment, including evenings, weekends, and holiday periods as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or certifications in business, retail, or gemology are a plus.
