Job Description


\nSummary\n

Responsible for leading the second shift Fabrication Department by promoting a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement. Oversees daily production operations and supports Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities\n

    \n
  • Ensure safety, on-time delivery, quality, and inventory management.
  • \n

  • Conduct performance evaluations and discipline associates as needed.
  • \n

  • Account for and process all parts before moving job orders to the next department.
  • \n

  • Follow block schedule to ensure timely completion of job orders.
  • \n

  • Maintain inventory of materials and parts for production.
  • \n

  • Coordinate inbound materials with designated Buyer/Planner.
  • \n

  • Ensure proper setup of all equipment in the Fabrication department.
  • \n

  • Provide necessary materials, parts, and tools for employees.
  • \n

  • Operate equipment safely in a steel fabrication environment.
  • \n

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • \n

Supervisory Responsibilities\n

Directly supervise employees in the department and carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with organizational procedures.

Qualifications\n

  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • \n

  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, CNC equipment, and production operations.
  • \n

  • Excellent communication, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • \n

  • Commitment to safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
  • \n

  • Professionalism, integrity, and accountability in interactions.
  • \n

  • Ability to build collaborative relationships across departments and with external partners.
  • \n

  • \n

Education and/or Experience\n

    \n
  • Degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred.
  • \n

  • 2 years related experience and/or training in department assigned.
  • \n

  • Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric tolerances.
  • \n

  • Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • \n
