Our organization is in search of a driven, career-focused, and customer-oriented Geospatial Analyst to become a part of our team in St. Louis, MO!
The Geospatial Analyst for the Airfield Foundation Data program will be responsible for extracting specific feature data according to the client’s data and product requirements, including VO collection within designated areas surrounding AFD collections. Responsibilities will encompass feature extraction (airfield infrastructure), feature analysis, validation, data entry, database scripting, quality control/assurance, and product finalization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possess knowledge of airfield infrastructure elements such as taxiways, runways, navigational aids, ATC towers, and hangars to develop AFD products.
- Update and troubleshoot Python scripts derived from older programming languages like VBA for AFD product completion.
- Utilize Python, VBA, Sybase, Oracle, Oracle Spatial, and PostgreSQL/PostGIS to execute scripts for AFD product finalization.
- Engage with and manipulate Geospatial Databases, SQL, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.
- Employ ESRI ArcGIS for feature collection, validation, and finishing tasks.
- Extract features from various imagery sources.
- Utilize data entry techniques, Microsoft Access databases, and Excel spreadsheets for metrics support.
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of GEOINT experience, with the following years contributing to the overall experience calculation:
- An Associate’s degree can replace 2 years of experience.
- A Bachelor’s degree can substitute for 3 years of experience.
- A Master’s degree can account for 2 years of experience.
- A PhD can replace 3 years of experience.
- Professional certifications can equate to 0.5 years of experience.
- Basic understanding of airfield infrastructures such as taxiways, runways, navigational aids, ATC towers, and hangars for AFD product creation.
- At least 1 year of experience in feature collection (points, lines, and areas), validation, and finishing.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with fundamental geospatial principles, including coordinate systems (horizontal and vertical), elevation models, and accuracy metrics.
- Knowledge of imagery, products, processes, and sensors.
- Experience in reading, writing, and understanding XML.
Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with the capability to obtain and maintain a Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain stationary for 50% of the time.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange information effectively with colleagues and senior staff.
