Embark on a rewarding contract position supporting elementary students with diverse learning needs in the Derry, NH area for the upcoming school year! This opportunity spans August 2026 through June 2027 and offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of both 2nd and 5th graders across two local schools. You’ll provide both direct instruction and case management for approximately 15 students, collaborating closely with colleagues and families to foster success.
Your schedule will be full-time, Monday through Friday, with hours ranging from 32 to 37.5 each week. As the dedicated special education teacher for this caseload, you’ll integrate your passion for helping children into daily practice while enjoying a dynamic, supportive school environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for elementary grades
- Experience with individualized education programs (IEPs) and progress monitoring
- Expertise in differentiated instruction and classroom behavioral management
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Flexibility to work across two school locations during the week
Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver instruction tailored to each student’s needs in both inclusive and specialized settings
- Monitor student progress, maintain documentation, and manage IEPs efficiently
- Lead case management and collaborate with other staff, parents, and service providers
- Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school initiatives
- Foster a supportive, positive environment that promotes growth and achievement for all students
