About the Opportunity
A well-established national insurance defense law firm is seeking an experienced Idaho-licensed Associate Attorney to join its General Liability Defense Practice Group.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 5–10 years of litigation experience, particularly in General Liability Defense involving automobile accidents, trucking litigation, and bodily injury claims.
The firm represents insurance carriers, employers, third-party administrators, and self-insured clients in a wide range of defense litigation matters.

The ideal candidate will have strong litigation skills, excellent legal research and writing abilities, and experience managing cases from inception through resolution, including hearings, depositions, trials, and appeals.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle General Liability Defense cases, including automobile and trucking accident litigation.
- Represent insurance carriers, employers, third-party administrators, and self-insured clients.
- Review and summarize medical records and evaluate liability and damages.
- Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and discovery documents.
- Prepare initial case evaluations, interim reports, pretrial reports, and appellate documents.
- Draft and respond to discovery requests and discovery-related motions.
- Prepare motions for summary judgment.
- Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, trials, and other court proceedings.
- Take and defend depositions of fact witnesses and expert witnesses.
- Prepare clients and witnesses for depositions.
- Develop litigation strategies and assist with settlement negotiations.
- Maintain regular client communication and manage litigation deadlines.
Qualifications
- Active Idaho Bar license in good standing required.
- 5–10 years of litigation experience.
- General Liability / Insurance Defense experience strongly preferred.
- Experience handling automobile and trucking defense litigation highly desirable.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent legal writing and oral communication abilities.
- Experience drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
- Ability to take and defend depositions.
- Experience attending hearings and managing litigation matters.
- Strong organizational and case management skills.
