Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Step Down Unit position requiring a CA RN license and ACLS certification for night shift coverage.
Details\n
- \n
- Work in the Step Down Unit (SDU/PCU/SCU) of an acute care hospital
- Care for patients requiring telemetry monitoring, including those post coronary intervention, pacemaker, and AICD placement
- Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- Float to Medical-Surgical unit as needed

Requirements\n

- Active CA RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required from an approved vendor
- NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
- 6 months of cardiac step-down or telemetry experience within the last 2 years preferred
- Completion of Basic Dysrhythmia Course and Critical Care Course preferred
- Skilled in accurate ECG rhythm interpretation and managing life-threatening cardiac emergencies
- Competent in medication administration, IV therapy including blood products, and care of indwelling catheters and drains
- Knowledge of femoral sheath removal using Femostop Device

- Provide nursing care planning and delivery for step down unit patients
- Supervise and delegate care responsibilities to ancillary personnel per their scope of practice
- Verify alarm settings with Monitor Technician per policy
- Demonstrate knowledge of lead functions and application, recommending optimal monitoring based on patient presentation
- Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will be automatically declined
- Candidates with a prior disciplinary action on their license will not be considered
- No radius restriction, and local candidates are accepted at the same rate as travelers
