Job Description
We are seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide quality nursing care to pediatric patients in a clinical setting. The LPN/LVN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team while following established nursing standards, infection control practices, performance improvement principles, and appropriate delegation guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to pediatric patients according to established clinical protocols and standards.
- Monitor patients' conditions and document changes in health status accurately and promptly.
- Assist with patient assessments and routine clinical procedures.
- Follow established infection control and patient safety practices.
- Apply performance improvement principles in daily clinical activities.
- Follow appropriate delegation principles under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional nursing standards.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to pediatric patients.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements Education & Training
- High School Diploma or GED – Required.
- Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program – Required.
Certification & Licensure
- Current, valid New York State LPN License and Registration – Required.
- Current AHA BLS Certification – Required.
Experience & Skills
- Pediatric nursing experience – Preferred.
- LPN training experience – Preferred.
- Knowledge of infection control principles.
- Understanding of performance improvement principles.
- Knowledge of appropriate delegation principles.
- Strong patient care and clinical nursing skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
