Location: Flushing, NY 11355
Duration: 14 Weeks – Contract
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Hours per Week: 35 hours
Shift Length: 7 hours per day
Lunch: 60-minute unpaid lunch break
Work Setting: 100% Onsite

Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to provide quality nursing care to pediatric patients in a clinical setting. The LPN/LVN will work collaboratively with the healthcare team while following established nursing standards, infection control practices, performance improvement principles, and appropriate delegation guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care to pediatric patients according to established clinical protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patients' conditions and document changes in health status accurately and promptly.
  • Assist with patient assessments and routine clinical procedures.
  • Follow established infection control and patient safety practices.
  • Apply performance improvement principles in daily clinical activities.
  • Follow appropriate delegation principles under the direction of licensed healthcare professionals.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and complete patient documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional nursing standards.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to pediatric patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements Education & Training

  • High School Diploma or GED – Required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program – Required.

Certification & Licensure

  • Current, valid New York State LPN License and Registration – Required.
  • Current AHA BLS Certification – Required.

Experience & Skills

  • Pediatric nursing experience – Preferred.
  • LPN training experience – Preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control principles.
  • Understanding of performance improvement principles.
  • Knowledge of appropriate delegation principles.
  • Strong patient care and clinical nursing skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
