Job Description
This role involves performing maintenance and repair on LP and electric forklifts and related equipment to ensure they operate safely, reliably, and efficiently. You will carry out preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and diesel systems in a warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on LP and electric forklifts and related equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and electrical issues on forklifts and other heavy equipment.
- Complete repairs on forklifts and associated systems, ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
- Use appropriate tools and diagnostic methods to accurately identify faults and implement effective solutions.
- Document maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and services completed.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with internal stakeholders and customers regarding equipment status and repair needs.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while working in the warehouse environment and handling heavy equipment.
- Lift and move parts and components weighing up to 75 lbs as needed to complete repairs and maintenance tasks.
Essential Skills
- 1–2 years of experience troubleshooting electric or LP systems on forklifts or similar equipment.
- Hands-on experience with forklift repair and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of hydraulic systems and components.
- Working knowledge of pneumatic systems and components.
- Experience with diesel systems and heavy equipment repair.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to perform detailed repair work.
- Proven troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs safely and repeatedly as part of daily work.
- Excellent customer service skills and professional communication.
- Commitment to working safely and efficiently in a warehouse environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with LP (liquid propane) powered equipment.
- Experience in maintaining or repairing heavy equipment in an industrial or warehouse setting.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Work Environment
This position is based in a new warehouse environment, working around forklifts and heavy equipment. You will spend most of your time on the shop floor performing hands-on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, diesel, and electrical work on LP and electric forklifts. The role requires regular lifting of up to 75 lbs and adherence to safety practices appropriate for an industrial warehouse setting.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilkes-Barre, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
