Grain Elevator Superintendent

Qualifications

Experience:

•3+ years in grain operations

•3+ years in a leadership role

Licenses: Valid driver's license required. No DUI’s or OVI’s over the past five years.

No more than two points on license.


Physical: Ability to work at heights (100+ ft), enter confined spaces, and lift 50 lbs.

Availability: Ability to work 60+ hours/week during peak harvest season which may

include weekends and holidays. (Sept–Nov). Must have good attendance.


Job Summary

Hansen Agri-PLACEMENT is representing a top client who is seeking a Grain Elevator Superintendent to lead daily logistics, personnel, safety, and equipment management at our commercial facility in Ohio. This role is responsible for the safe, profitable, and efficient receiving, conditioning, storing, and shipping of agricultural commodities, with a heavy emphasis on regional soybean production.

Key Responsibilities

•Operations: Direct truck and rail logistics.

•Conditioning: Oversee sampling and mechanical aeration/drying.

•Leadership: Lead by example and set clear expectations.

•Maintenance: Oversee Maintenance team, troubleshoot and repair legs, conveyors,bucket elevators, digital scales and soybean meal/oil processing facility.

•Compliance: Enforce zero-incident OSHA standards, dust-sweeping, and bin entry safety.

Skills

•Grain Grading: In-depth knowledge of grain varieties, moisture limits, infestation signs and USDA grading standards.

•Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to troubleshoot and understand heavy machinery, conveyor

systems, and facility automated controls

•Leadership & Communication: Effectively managing a diverse crew and translating corporate metrics or regulatory compliance rules into daily workflows.

•Financial Literacy: Understanding market pricing, profit margins, blending economics, and facility budgeting.

•Problem-Solving: Resolving quick-turnaround issues like equipment failure during peak

harvest seasons or logistical bottlenecks.

•Customer Service: Building trust and maintaining strong localized commercial

relationships with the farming community.
