Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing assigned construction projects from start through completion. This position works closely with field inspectors, contractors, customers, and internal teams to keep projects moving and address issues as they arise. The Project Manager will monitor daily production, project schedules, field activity, and overall project quality. Experience with fiber optic, telecommunications, OSP, or underground utility construction is highly valued.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2–5 years of project management or construction management experience preferred
  • Experience with fiber optic, telecommunications, OSP, or underground utility construction is preferred
  • Solid understanding of construction operations and job site safety
  • Ability to read and understand construction prints, maps, and project scopes
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable using email, digital project documentation, and other basic technology
  • Must have a valid driver’s license

Responsibilities:

  • Manage assigned construction projects from assignment through completion
  • Monitor daily production, project schedules, and overall job progress
  • Coordinate with field inspectors and contractors regarding daily operations and project needs
  • Visit active job sites to stay familiar with field conditions and verify project progress
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding project status, scheduling, changes, and concerns
  • Review construction plans, maps, project scopes, and field documentation
  • Identify delays, construction issues, or quality concerns and work with the appropriate team members to resolve them
  • Monitor contractor performance and address work that does not meet project requirements
  • Maintain accurate knowledge of the current status of assigned projects
  • Coordinate with internal departments regarding project documentation and reporting
  • Attend project meetings and provide updates on assigned work
  • Assist with project closeout and completion of outstanding items

We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of their projects and is comfortable working both in the office and in the field. This position requires someone who can adapt as project needs change, communicate professionally, and address issues as they come up. You must also be comfortable working around active construction sites and wearing required PPE.
