Job Description

The Packer serves as a visual quality inspector responsible for examining incoming and outgoing plastic bottles, identifying defects, and ensuring products meet strict quality standards before shipment. This role involves high-volume visual inspection, accurate repacking of bottles, and close monitoring of the treatment process to ensure bottles are properly processed and ready to return to customers.

Responsibilities

• Inspect plastic bottles for dents, damage, contamination, and other defects.
• Check finished bottles after processing to ensure quality standards are met.
• Pack bottles into metal baskets for treatment and processing.
• Monitor bottles coming out of the treatment process for defects or issues.
• Repack bottles to match their original packaging.
• Follow written work instructions and quality procedures.
• Meet daily production and inspection goals.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Report quality or production issues to supervisors.
• Work with team members to ensure smooth operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong attention to detail and visual inspection skills.
• Ability to identify defects and quality issues.
• Experience working in a production, manufacturing, or packaging environment is helpful.
• Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
• Comfortable performing repetitive tasks.
• Strong commitment to quality and safety.
• Reliable attendance and positive work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Production, packaging, or quality inspection experience.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Comfortable working around production equipment and machinery.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing and production floor environment.
• Not fully climate-controlled:
  • Heated during winter
  • Large fans used during summer
• Work around:
  • Production lines
  • Packaging stations
  • Metal baskets
  • Industrial treatment equipment
• Large breakroom with refrigerators and vending machines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of St. Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
