Recycle Team Specialist Job Description

Shift: Monday through Friday 7:00-3:30
Reports to: Environmental Superintendent
Position Overview
The Recycle Team Specialist will report to and assist Environmental Superintendent for managing solid waste collection, equipment maintenance, and oversight of recycling programs. The role requires direct facilitation of all recycling activities, support for Treasure Valley sites, oversight of vendor relationships, and assistance in the preparation of monthly management reports detailing revenue and cost savings. The position also involves tracking and maintaining data for environmental reporting requirements, as well as ensuring that the team complies with environmental and safety training.

· Basic computer proficiency (Word, Excel, Maximo)
· Ability to operate a forklift
· Organizational and problem-solving abilities
· Self-motivation and capacity to work unsupervised
· Flexible to work overtime and holidays
· Time management, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities
· Ability to move materials up to 50 pounds
· Knowledge of DOT CFR 49 for hazardous material transportation
Departmental Responsibilities
Recycling
· Collect, process, package, and ship recyclable materials utilizing forklifts and vehicles
· Creates manifest from shipping recyclables
· Track and report revenue, weights, and volumes of recyclables
· Escort pickups and Maintenance Vendors
Solid Waste
· Monitor dumpsters and compactors; schedule pickups and maintenance
· Order and manage containers for routine and special projects
· Track solid waste disposal for billing and reporting
· Maintain the "desirable trash" area
Special Services / Other Duties
· Track vehicle / Forklift Check off sheets
· Respond to emails and manage supply orders
· Maintain vendor communications and facilitate work orders
Education, Certifications, Skills
- High school diploma
- A valid Idaho driver’s license
- Forklift Certification is a plus.
- Data Entry experience is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
- Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
