The People Relations Advisor will be accountable of advising and provide specialized, professional support to managers and employees on sensitive labor and employee relations matters, including grievance and arbitration procedures, performance issues and disciplinary actions investigations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a strong business relationship with internal customers and business units’ leaders.
- Handles routine labor relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and investigations refers complex matters to management staff and employees.
- Investigates potential violations and advises management on opportunities for remediation/prevention of workplace issues that impact morale, productivity, and organizational performance, as appropriate to the position; determines, gathers, and analyzes evidentiary information necessary to evaluate compliance issues.
- Complete leave of absences processes such as ADA, FMLA, and OSHA and CFSE forms including the orientation, data gathering and report to state agencies.
- Serves as the primary contact for Sexual Harassment, Domestic Violence and Labor Harassment complaints as well as the investigation and protocols activations.
- Ensures, reinforce and audit that all business units, locations, and department are in compliance with labor regulatory affairs, documentation, posters and trainings as applicable.
- Assist the CPO in auditing compliance within the employees’ files.
- Serves as the primary contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
- Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.
- Perform exit interviews of all employees and report any trend gathered that could impact the organizations employer branding.
- In partner with legal counselor, collects information and data to assess cost and policy implications of disputes and risk to the company.
- Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies, and other labor relations matters; collects information and reports results to Chief People Officer as well as in the employee relations log available.
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, or related required.
- 3+ years of experience in human resources and/or labor relations.
- Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English with aptitude in conducting investigations.
- Thorough understanding of Federal and State Labor Law applicable to Puerto Rico and Alivia’s business.
- SHRM-CP or PHR, preferred
