Job Description
Hiring an experienced Insurance Defense Associate with 3+ years of litigation experience. Candidates must be admitted in Maryland; admission in DC, VA, or PA is a plus. The role focuses on defense of personal injury, property damage, products liability, construction, toxic torts, premises liability, and transportation claims.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a high-volume litigation docket, meeting deadlines and handling multiple cases.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery, and other documents.
- Participate in court appearances, depositions, client meetings, and strategy discussions.
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff, maintaining regular client communication.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; Maryland Bar admission required.
- 3+ years’ experience in insurance defense litigation; 4–8 years preferred.
- Strong academic credentials, research, writing, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
- Experience with complex general liability, professional liability, construction litigation, and personal injury defense is a plus.
Work Environment:
- Flexible/hybrid schedule; on-site in Baltimore 3 days/week (full-time during training, 90–180 days).
